TheMixRoom@BASS is a new generation mixing and recording environment. The original concept was a mixdown, edit and mastering room. Once it became apparent that the BASS rehearsal rooms offer excellent acoustics and atmosphere coupled with ample size and high ceilings, however, we decided to offer tracking as well. The focus is on live band and ensemble recording. Artists can set-up in rehearsal formation, with sound re-enforcement if necessary, work up their material, rehearse and record without ever having to relocate. Audio is routed to an acoustically treated, comfortable control room featuring an all ProTools audio system. Hardware includes a fully blown HD3 Accel system with the new Digidesign C24 controller, Dynaudio BM15A, BM6A, and NHT monitors. Displays are dual Cinemascreen and a large LCD display for working with picture. Software includes McDsp, Digi, SonyOxford, Waves, CraneSong, Sound Toys, Eventide, MDW, Trillium Lane, and Chandler & Antares. For in-control room recording there is a Yamaha CP33 Stage Piano, Neumann TLM49, DPA and other mics, and Focusrite ISA series pre-amps. As well as music mixing, recording and mastering, we can provide full multi-track audio services for all types of video shooting on either of the two BASS sound stages.
